Intentional design is about bringing awareness to what matters most to you right now and designing a space to support you in your intentions. Having a beautiful home is nice but having a home that specifically supports an expanded version of yourself is amazing. Intention paired with design absolutely has the power to that.

In our in-person design process, we will meet at your home and focus on one intention in your life and one room that will help support you in growing into the fullest expression of that intention. A beautifully designed space has the power to set a mood and facilitate how you show up in life. Together, and with the help of Spirit through an intuitive reading, we will arrive at several design options that you are then free to implement on your own or continue onto Phase Two for additional design support.

Read below to learn more about this process.

  • You’d like to make structural changes or move walls and change the layout of your home.

  • You’d like for a designer to incorporate the bigger and longer term potential whole-house remodel changes into the one room design plan.

  • You know you’ll want the type of support that can be offered by a designer during Phase Two activities such as:

    • Visiting design stores to make final material selections for a kitchen or bath remodel.

    • Helping you review paint swatches at your home to make a final color decision.

    • Discussing the design plan with another member of your family and incorporating their input.

    • Arranging furniture and light handyman activities that could be involved in pulling a room together.

FAQ:

Q: What do you mean by “Spirit?”

A: As an intuitive, I can read the energy of you, your home, and your spirit guides. This is not about predicting anything; it’s about reading energy as it appears in present time. Adding this layer of information to your design process in Phase One will add clarity in supporting your intentions rather than getting distracted by the latest design trends or the desires of your ego. This is how we arrive at a place where intentional design can support you in living out the most expanded version of yourself.

Q: What if I don’t want to do the energy reading?

A: If you do not wish to partake in an energy reading, I certainly respect your choice. It is important however that you are comfortable discussing feelings and intentions. Our inner and outer world are such direct mirrors of one another, and it is my intention that this design process serves to add both beauty and harmony to your life. Being intentional and present to this transformational process is all that is required.

Q: How many items are included in the Phase One mood boards?

A: I will first start with any pieces that you already have that you absolutely want incorporated in the design. If budget is a concern for you, I can also include options for how you can upcycle pieces of furniture that you already have. Every mood board will include the basic pieces of furniture that are typical to a specific room type as well as the decorative pieces like art, rugs, and pillows that round out a room design.

Q: What if I don’t love all of your Phase One design suggestions?

A: You are always welcome to make your own choices as you go about decorating your space. Based on the input you provided during the client intake, what arises during the energy reading, our in person discussion, and my design background, my design choices will serve as a strong anchor point to how certain colors, pieces, and layouts will best support your intentions. Think of the mood boards provided to you as an energetic design blueprint that will guide you in how to best create your room.

Q: Do you have follow-up services after the Phase One designs are delivered?

A: Yes! For those working with me in person, I do offer Phase Two design services that can help you carry out your design to completion. Please see additional information above.

Q: Do you design outdoor spaces?

A: Not at this point though that may change in the future.

Q: Do you offer free consultation calls?

A: If you are strongly considering working with me for both Phase One and Phase Two, I can set up a 15 minute Zoom call with you to help you determine if we are the right fit. If you would like to do this, please email me at katie@carerealtyco.com and have your email subject line be: Request for 15 Minute Consultation Call.

*Disclaimers:

  • During Phase One, I do not provide links to kitchen or bathroom items such as tile, countertops, cabinets, fixtures, or appliances though I will offer material and style suggestions so you may then shop within your budget. Designing a kitchen or bath is a highly involved process that requires extensive planning to ensure that the room functions optimally.

  • If you’d like for your design layout to include structural changes, you must first meet with a structural engineer before our meeting. You will need to know which walls are loadbearing, in which direction your floor and ceiling joists run, and how the framing in your attic is constructed (should you wish to elevate your ceiling).

  • Although a kitchen layout can be provided during Phase One, do not base cabinet or countertop orders from the design deliverable. Cabinet and countertop orders must be extremely precise. You will need your contractor or a representative from the design store to complete final measurements before placing your order.

  • I will always provide links to pieces of art or furniture that are currently in stock. I cannot guarantee however that certain items might go out of stock or be discontinued after your designs are delivered. Should this happen, hopefully you will be able to find a similar item.

  • I will do my best to make recommendations based on the budget you provide in your intake form. Should certain recommendations be outside what you ultimately prefer to spend, you may still find similar items based on my suggested design ideas.

  • When paint colors are recommended, it is always advisable that you first try out a few test swatches on the wall. As I will not be testing paint swatches in your home during Phase One, it is impossible to know if you will ultimately like the way a color appears in your room throughout the day. If the recommended color is not to your liking, most likely a shade very similar will ultimately be what works best for you.

  • Our time together is in no way intended to serve as a form of therapy nor can I guarantee specific changes in your life.

  • Payment is collected in full at the time of booking. You may not cancel your order once it is placed however you can reschedule your appointment up to 48 hours before your session.

  • If at any point during the Phase One visit I feel uncomfortable, I will leave and refund you 100% of your payment.
